Deborah Sessel - Faith Exhibition Opening Con't

Her finished paintings and carefully articulated studies on paper, convey an almost meditative stillness through their jewel-like clarity.  The juxtaposition of her technique with Holocaust imagery representations of tattered prison uniforms and yellow stars, etc. has created a body of work of powerful expressiveness.

Travel to historical sites where tragedies of the Holocaust occurred in inspired Sessel to convey the horror of this history through her creative lens.  Ms. Sessel will be speaking at 7:30p.m.  The artist's mother and poet Janice Sessel, who accompanied her daughter to these various sites, will also attend.  Copies of her poetry collection "Spaces" will be available.

This exhibition is supported by Hannah and Larry Langsam, Ken and Nancy Kranzberg, Joan and Marcus Sessel and the Regional Arts Commission.
